Temporada de bayas para Petirrojos (Robins)

 










Muchos animales se están preparando para el invierno, tratando de comer lo mejor que pueden, y los pájaros no son la excepción, cada otoño antes de volar hacia el sur, muchos  Robins hacen una parada en mi jardín para comer bayas de mis Enebros.

Dicho esto, es interesante comentar el alimento favorito de los petirrojos son lombrices, arañas y hasta caracoles. En otoño en cambio, le da una vuelta ligera a su dieta comiendo bayas y frutos para el invierno que se acerca, los petirrojos pueden comer 220 bayas de enebro al día.

Dearest Laura,
That is a lot of berries being consumed daily by a Robin but yes, they load up for being fit and healthy!
We have so many acorns and other tree fruits falling down now, that will be a much needed source of food for many critters like squirrels, chipmunks and birds alike.
Autumn does have so much color and goodness.
Hope you both are doing well.

Beautiful robin photos. Robins are year around here in middle Tennessee, and I love watching them in the gardens eating. Lovely post.
